Context
Galaxy's electronic trading business needed reliable, scalable, low-latency infrastructure. I joined as Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering in 2022 and later became Director, Principal SRE.
What I built
- Kubernetes clusters as the standard runtime for trading and DeFi services, extending container and microservice architecture across the firm.
- Flux as the firm-wide GitOps standard, automating continuous delivery of applications and Kubernetes platform components in every environment.
- Infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD workflows that raised engineering productivity and release speed.
- The infrastructure, networking and reliability foundations for the RFS trading platform and the EMS/PMS execution and portfolio management systems.
- On-premises bare-metal infrastructure on Equinix Metal, extending the firm beyond the public cloud.
- Zscaler zero trust (ZIA and ZPA) for internet access and private application access across the firm.
Beyond trading
For six months I also led Corporate Network and Systems Engineering, overseeing the firm's corporate network and enterprise systems. Throughout, I pushed DevOps and SRE practice across engineering teams to make electronic trading systems more reliable and easier to operate.
